The Ten-Step Program

Order is all around us and God gave us 10  sound principles to follow to which Dr. Henry C. Link said, “They are worth more than a library full of books or a den decorated with diplomas.  Principles and standards clarify and simplify our thinking.  They are points of reference which help us to avoid complexity and confusion.  They rescue us from the necessity of prolonged and useless debate.  They give us a base for decision and action.”

Decisions you made formerly, currently and in the future all have shaped you into the person you are today and the person you will become.  God makes it clear as to remind us of our sacred duty to settle our accounts with him someday…soon!  How do you vision that meeting to be with Him?  Will we shrink with shame and guilt and wish to hide from his all seeing eye.  Will we be able to stand before him with humility and love and honestly say we did our best to follow HIS commandments?

In order to have order in our lives and become ready to stand before the judgement bar of God shamelessly and I didn’t say “PERFECTLY”, we must not forget about him or his voice as it came down to us as thunder and lightnings from Sinai, saying:

1.  Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

2.  Thou shalt not make unto me any graven image.

3.  Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.

4.  Remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy.

5.  Honor thy Father and thy Mother.

6.  Thou shalt not kill.

7.  Thou shalt not commit adultery.

8.  Thou shalt not steal.

9.  Though shalt not bear false witness.

10.  Thou shalt not covet.

The 10 step program is simple:  First, we must establish all 10 steps in our hearts. Second, we must go about enthusiastically working on those things that we should do.  Third, we must accept them as the unchanging will of God and stop adjusting them to “fit” our lifestyles.

We are orderly creatures! Let’s stop trying to reinvent the wheel!  Let’s make the decision today to follow and be obedient to GOD, to be ready for today’s challenges and for what tomorrow may bring.  To be “a chosen people” that we may take complete and full advantage of the great power of these great laws to this end.
